Tony - older Italian, warm, exuberant personality (Baritone) Rosabella - lonely, waitress, independent yet vulnerable (Soprano) Joe - Tony's foreman, young, handsome - a loner (Baritone) Marie - Tony's sister, younger, but still old world (Mezzo Soprano) Herman - young hired hand, cheerful, strong sense of comedy (Tenor) Cleo - Rosabella's waitress friend, big heart & personality Jake, Clem, and Al to form a quartet with Herman singing "Standing on the Corner" Pasquale, Giuseppe, and Ciccio--2 tenors and a baritone to play this comedic trio (they are Italian Chefs) that is very important in the storyline Cashier, Postman, Priest, Doctor and Max the photographer--speaking and singing parts who join the folks of San Francisco and the Napa Valley Chorus/Ensemble - townspeople, neighbors, farm hands and 3-4 children (ages 9 through 13)
